Day 6: Prainha revisited

Unhappy with the settings of my previous shot but intrigued by the HDR possibilities of this place, I decided to come back to Prainha on another rainy day. This time I would try a bit more 'over the top' effect. This photo is taken from the other side of the beach, coming from Macumba. I had to remove some raindrops off my lens in post processing and put in a new sky. The original one was way too impacted by the tone mapping process. I would flip the image horizontally, but that would make it appear too much like the one from yesterday.

  1. Very nice texture wow at iso 400 did you have a problem with noise or is that just one of my problems :) They look like narrow roads do you drive around or on a bike. The curving roads and beach are inviting, did I mention how jealous I am.

  2. This is another lovely shot and the colours all go together so well. It goes really well withnthe other one and I think they would look very nice printed out and hung on my dining room wall :-)

  3. It looks so tidy and clean there, the roads look spotless.
I like the dark moody clouds lots, it ads a lovely atmosphere to the shot.

  4. I really like the gritty feel of this...so very different from the beach on day 1

  5. Wow what a picture. I like the look of this. It would be interesting to see the image without the tone mapping. Just for curiosity sake.

  7. I'm sorry to say I'm not digging this one at all. I like the composition and I think you could have had a nice shot, but the HDR looks way over done to me. I see that other people like it, and that's cool, but for me yesterday was a much more controlled and effective picture.

  8. Nice composition. But I find the HDR a little too overdone. It looks a lot like an illustration. A very good illustration, but not a photograph. Great colour combinations...

  9. I must admit I prefer the warmer & softer beaches. This one makes me shiver a bit.

  10. This could almost be a New Zealand scene with the colour of the vegetation. Grey and moody. HDR effect is a bit strong in the foreground but better on the back hills.

  11. wow. this is eye-popping and very surreal looking. I like the look of this picture. I'm definitely no expert in this as I've never tried this - but I'd like too. I think you pulled this off fairly well. I try not read the comments before I right my own so as not to be pulled in one way or another, so I'll go back and read the otherr comments. In my humble opinion, I like it a lot.
