I knew that whenever there would be some wind, I would go to Pepe Beach. I just didn't expect it to be rainy. Pepe was a world champion hang gliding, a local horse riding champion and one of the best surfers in the world in the 70's. Until he died in Tokio in 1991, during the world championship Free Flight. So it's no coincidence that Rio's Kite Surf Point is at the beach that has been given his name. The girl on this photo waved at me right after this shot, so I took that for a "yes, you can use my picture".

Awesome action shot! There's so much life in the waves.
ReplyDeleteGreat pictures amigo!
ReplyDeletebeaches, my favorite subject :)
we'll have some caipi's on your favourite ones in a few months
WOW!
ReplyDeleteThe waves are so beautifull and the inclinated compostion (girl+handglide) is perfect!
Congrats!

(estou vendo que o tempo no RJ está igual ao daqui de SP :-)
I always wanted to try that :)
ReplyDeleteNice composition which would be a little harder to do with moving around so much and she looks so relaxed too
really great catch!
ReplyDeleteAwesome shot. I love the spray of the waves in the back.
ReplyDeleteGreat capture, the blue sail against the dark grey sky makes it outstanding. Looks like the weather is turning a bit rough.
ReplyDeleteLovely action shot and the composition is just right.
ReplyDeleteI'll just rewrite your comment: poster size, please! This is GREAT! :)
ReplyDeleteFascinating! The good thing with the gloomy sky is that the kite stands out so much more as if you did a partial desat.
ReplyDeleteFreaking awesome picture. Seriously.... WOW!
ReplyDeleteGreat composition and a well-timed shot. It's hard to get good pics of these guys cos they are so small compared to their kites, and also so far away from them. Best view is to get upwards with them and the kite close in the frame... But from the shore that's not possible. Great job you did here.
ReplyDeleteWow, what a beautiful place and a great shot!
ReplyDeleteMan, such a hard life you have this month. I would pretend that I’m not jealous, but I am, painfully jealous. This is a really great shot. It’s so crisp and the timing is perfect. I hope the rain lets up soon (or maybe I don’t, green eyed monster and all).
ReplyDeleteThis is simply stunning. The kite surfer is so tiny but I can still see her form. Really fantastic shot.
ReplyDeleteTremendous sense of scale and power - very nicely captured.
ReplyDeleteLovely contrast of the bright sail and the grey tones. Composition is great too.
