Day 29: Rain AND thunderstorms

The rain is becoming a real drag, but this time our gods added another spice to the pallet: thunderstorms. I was actually walking to the beach in hopes of a good sunset. But as I saw many a lightning strike above the east-end of the city, I changed that for hopes of lucky timing and a steady hand. I really have to buy a decent tripod. This is for Kimbo, Andromeda and Isabella, who haven't missed a day commenting.

  2. Oh! Where to start!!! I think Cridley summed it up pretty well by saying unbelievable. Not only did you capture the lightning but those colours are absolutely stunning. I'm sure you're proud of this one! I shall miss the challenge when it's over - no more photos to comment on. I'll have to start commenting more on contests.

  3. OH! MY! WORD! This is too stunning and beautiful for words! The sunset colours, the people on the beach to add interest and scale, the vertical aspect to give it real presence, and the absolutely fantastically magical lightning bolts! Your timing is fantastic, and if you did this without a tripod, I say you are a blooming magician! Just to awesome for words! Very nice work!

  4. This is such a cool shot, one of my favs. I see you have night beaches where they light them up for people must be magic sitting on the beach with going on over head. I love thunderstorms I thought we were going to have a couple of nights ago but it just didn't happen. :( lots of rain though

  6. Awwwwwwwwwwww it's so pretty, I adore lightning, perhaps not thunder so much but storms are totally fabulous. You've done a great job hand held too, it's hard enough with a tripod...WOW!!!
I'm very impressed, and thanks for getting sand in your toes for us all, it's been a blast!
